BGB Oil Rig Scaffolding to Help You ‘Drill, Baby Drill’

BGB are best known for our work in the renewable energy sector, supporting every single US wind farm and present on all Ørsted offshore wind projects from Taiwan to Rhode Island. What you may not know is that we can also provide exactly the same level of service and safety to traditional energy industries, such as oil and gas rigs.

And with Donald Trump urging Americans to ‘drill, baby, drill’ from his very first day in office, our oil rig scaffolding teams are busier than ever.

The world’s largest oil producer

Trump’s rallying cry to exploit the US fossil fuel reserves is hardly a new approach. After all, as the figures from Statista show, the United States is already the largest oil producer in the world, and it has been for the last six years. America produces 20% of the world’s crude oil, more than Saudi Arabia and Russia put together.

The United States has almost 600 operational oil and gas rigs, which between them produced 827.1 million tonnes of oil in 2023 alone. This figure was already on a rapid upward curve, long before Trump’s speech, with 2023 oil production up by almost 16% on 2020 figures.

What’s more, American oil production is gathering pace all the time. According to the Energy Information Administration, the US produced a world record 13.3 million barrels per day in December 2023, and there is much more to come.

Huge oil reserves

“The US has the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth,” boasted Donald Trump during his inauguration speech and he’s not wrong. The US has 48.3 billion barrels of proven reserves, and many experts consider even this vast figure to be a conservative estimate.

While many would argue that renewable energy has to be the future, if we are to avoid climate change, the US administration sees things differently.Greater domestic oil production is not only possible, it is necessary,” says the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. “We need it to help protect America from global supply disruptions, create new jobs, pay down the debt, close our trade gap and reduce energy prices.”

Born in Wales

BGB may not have been born in the USA, as the song goes, but we always aim to use the best of local talent when we create our overseas teams. Our US branch, in Providence, Rhode Island is an American company, run by American experts who understand US safety standards inside out. This is essential, both to protect your team and to protect your company from regulatory infringements and the associated penalties.

If you’re ready to join Trump’s new black-gold rush, then BGB are ready to help, with all the gas and oil rig scaffolding and access solutions you need. To find out more, contact BGB Renewables in the United States, or BGB Group Global in the UK and make drill baby drill, safe baby safe.
