IRATA Training
BGB Group provides industry-recognised Industrial Rope Access Training Association (IRATA) certified training courses for all levels – Level 1 (L1), Level 2 (L2), and Level 3 (L3).
Whether you’re starting your rope access career or progressing to advanced supervisory roles, our certified instructors and purpose-built training facilities provide the ideal environment for success.
IRATA Level 1 (L1) – Entry-Level Technician
For beginners or those new to rope access. No prior experience required, but a good level of fitness and a head for heights are essential.
What you’ll learn:
- Basic rope access manoeuvres
- Safe use of equipment
- Rigging simple systems
- Basic rescue techniques
- Understanding of IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP)
Duration: 5 days (4 training + 1 assessment)
Certification: IRATA L1, valid for 3 years
IRATA Level 2 (L2) – Intermediate Technician
For IRATA L1 certified technicians with a minimum of 1,000 logged hours and 12 months of experience.
What you’ll learn:
- Advanced rigging techniques
- Aid climbing
- Complex rescues and hauling systems
- Enhanced rope access manoeuvres
- Greater focus on job site safety and efficiency
Duration: 5 days (4 training + 1 assessment)
Certification: IRATA L2, valid for 3 years
IRATA Level 3 (L3) – Supervisor/Lead Technician
For IRATA L2 certified technicians with at least 1,000 additional logged hours and 12 months since L2 certification.
What you’ll learn:
- Planning and supervising rope access operations
- Advanced rescue management
- Risk assessment and method statement development
- Full understanding of ICOP and relevant legislation
Duration: 5 days (4 training + 1 assessment)
Certification: IRATA L3, valid for 3 years
QHSE Training
BGB Group are also able to work with your QHSE team to develop systems, inspections and assessments to make your workplaces healthier, safer and kinder to the environment. BGB Group can take the QHSE lead on your project, training your team on the job, or provide a supportive role that also includes QHSE training either on-site or in the classroom.
